New Interactive Displays Highlight Key Tourist Attractions in Slovenian Municipality

As part of the recently completed "Top je tudi Ptuj" project, we are happy to share the installation of imotion FLOW 55" Portrait Freestanding interactive touchscreen displays in the heart of Ptuj. The latest unit was placed at Town Square, following an earlier installation near the popular Terme Ptuj thermal baths.
Modernizing Tourist Attractions Visibility with Interactive Digital Signage
Outdoor digital signage displays, featuring ultra-high-bright screens and autonomic, self-regulating technology, were deployed as part of the "Sustainable Transformation of Public Tourism Infrastructure in the Ptuj Tourist Destination" project. The initiative aims to modernize and improve the visibility of Ptuj’s tourist attractions, while offering a richer experience for both visitors and locals. Co-financed by Slovenia's Recovery and Resilience Fund, this project also included the installation of new external lighting for three major landmarks in Ptuj, improving the city’s night-time ambiance and reducing light pollution.
Strategic Placement for Maximum Impact
Outdoor display screens were strategically placed based on data from visitor flow studies. Terme Ptuj, the city’s largest tourist attraction, was an ideal location for one of the units, with the goal of encouraging thermal bath visitors to venture into Ptuj’s old town and explore its rich cultural heritage. The second outdoor LCD display was installed in the busy Town Square, known for its high pedestrian traffic, ensuring engagement with both tourists and locals.
These interactive digital displays serve as a convenient first point of contact for visitors, providing valuable information about Ptuj’s attractions, restaurants, accommodations, and upcoming events. Supplementing the services provided by the Tourist Information Center, the imotion FLOW units play a critical role in shaping the visitor experience, making it easier for tourists to plan their activities.
Positive Feedback and Growing Popularity
The feedback from the Ptuj Municipality has been overwhelmingly positive. These interactive displays provide essential tourist information, help direct visitors to key cultural and historical sites, and even support last-minute accommodation searches. In addition, they offer suggestions for leisure activities, such as cycling routes, natural attractions, and play areas for families.
In one month alone, the interactive display at Terme Ptuj recorded nearly 700 user sessions, while the display at Mestni Trg logged over 300 sessions. Each session lasts an average of three to four minutes, proving the displays are not only popular but effective in holding users’ attention and guiding them to explore Ptuj’s offerings.
